About the Role
As a Transport Driver at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a vital role in healthcare logistics and deliveries. Your responsibilities will include transporting and collecting school vaccines and blood specimens while following proper handling protocols, delivering confidential documents, PPE, and postal items to healthcare facilities, and coordinating food deliveries to In-Patient Community units. You will handle all medical materials with appropriate care and security measures to ensure safety and compliance.

In addition, you will assist with office relocations, equipment moves, and the removal and transportation of office furniture and equipment. Maintaining organized loading and delivery schedules and executing tasks efficiently while ensuring proper handling of all items is essential.

Professional standards and compliance are critical in this role. You will adhere to all departmental procedures and current road laws, report any changes to your driving license status to the Transport Manager, and maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct. This is a customer-facing role requiring a professional demeanour.

Safety is paramount; you will be expected to report all incidents and accidents promptly, follow established safety protocols for handling sensitive materials, maintain accurate delivery records and documentation, and ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety checks.

Experience
Previous experience in driving and logistics is preferred but not essential. Ability to handle deliveries and transport medical and sensitive materials with care is important.

Reliable and flexible with a professional attitude and excellent customer service skills. Physically capable of handling furniture and equipment when required. Able to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Qualifications
A valid driving licence is required. Knowledge of current road laws and safe driving practices is essential. Experience in healthcare or similar environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
