About the Role
Kingston Adult Education is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Historian, teacher of history, or someone with strong knowledge of London history to deliver walking courses for adult learners (19+) in London. These courses introduce learners to some of the most popular parts of London, offering rich insights into the city's history and culture. You will conduct two-hour walking tours, engaging learners by sharing your knowledge and answering their questions about London’s diverse heritage.
You will join a team of dedicated teachers and receive a full induction, along with regular training sessions and CPD opportunities. The role involves planning and delivering engaging sessions that inspire and educate, while ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience or strong knowledge in London history, ideally with teaching or guiding experience in adult education or historical tours.

- Degree standard or high level of knowledge in London history.
- Ability to conduct engaging two-hour walking tours, introducing learners to new parts of London.
- Skilled in assessing learners’ needs and planning tailored learning programmes.
- Able to differentiate delivery to meet individual learner needs.
- Committed to implementing Health and Safety, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Safeguarding, Prevent, and other relevant policies.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in history, education, or related fields are desirable but not explicitly stated. A Blue Badge or equivalent knowledge of London’s historical sites is advantageous.
