For further information, please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification Clinical Expert Practice Receive and review all prostate 2WW referrals into the urology department and triage appropriately. Perform a physical assessment including obtaining a clinical history, conducting the physical examination and assessment of psychological well-being in order to make a diagnosis (having undertaken a physical assessment skills course at level 4) Request diagnostic tests (blood tests, CXR, echocardiography, cytology, MRI, CT, PET) as appropriate and in keeping with Urology Diagnostic guidelines To check blood and urine parameters as well as physical status are within safe operating limits for prostate biopsy and flexible cystoscopy To direct and use the results of specialist investigations (e.g. blood tests, XR, MRI, CT) to assist formulation of diagnosis and plan patient management. To independently obtain signed patient consent prior to a procedure To independently receive patient referrals utilising highly developed expert knowledge, diagnostic and clinical skills to carry out Transperineal prostate biopsy and/or flexible cystoscopy in a safe and timely manner. 1.1
