About the Role
The Wellbeing Options Coach role is focused on sustaining and resettling Sutton's residents at risk of homelessness within the private sector. The aim is to prevent escalation of homeless applications and reduce both the number and length of stay of homeless households in temporary accommodation. This role supports residents with uncertain future renting to maintain tenancies longer-term.

The Wellbeing and Support Team, part of the Housing Advice Service, provides holistic housing and homelessness support. The team’s mission is to support tenancy sustainment, de-escalate homelessness at early signs of risk, and resettle residents into suitable, affordable, and longer-term tenancies. The service ethos is people-focused, responsible, inclusive, empowering, and empathic, ensuring person-centered support for every resident.

The London Borough of Sutton is a vibrant community located less than 30 minutes by train from Central London, known for its award-winning parks, low crime rates, affordable housing, excellent schools, and strong resident engagement. Sutton is investing heavily in health, wellbeing, education, and economic growth, including the development of the London Cancer Hub, which will create thousands of jobs and contribute significantly to the UK economy.

The Council is a key player in the South London Partnership, focusing on strategic growth, regeneration, and investment to make Sutton a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
