About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Work and Health Coach to support local residents in overcoming health-related barriers to employment. As part of the new WorkWell programme team in Southwark, you will work closely with individuals facing challenges due to physical or mental health conditions, providing personalised coaching, practical support, and access to relevant services. Your role will help participants build confidence, improve wellbeing, and make sustainable progress towards their employment goals.

You will manage your own caseload, delivering one-to-one support face-to-face, online, and by phone. This includes understanding participants’ circumstances, identifying barriers, and developing tailored action plans. You will provide career guidance, employment advice, job search support, CV and interview preparation, and help participants access health, wellbeing, training, and employment services. Identifying workplace adjustments to help retain employment is also key.

Building positive relationships with employers and local health, wellbeing, employment, and training services is essential to create opportunities and provide joined-up support. Alongside direct participant work, you will maintain accurate and confidential records, monitor progress against outcomes, contribute to programme reporting, and gather feedback to continuously improve the service.

The role involves a mix of office-based working, home working, and meeting participants at community locations.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience of one-to-one support or coaching, ideally within employment, health, wellbeing, or employability programmes.
- Understanding of barriers faced by people with physical or mental health needs in accessing or remaining in employment.
- Experience working to targets and contributing to high performance standards and positive outcomes.

About you
- Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
- Thorough and accurate approach to managing information, record keeping, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Creative and flexible problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to individual circumstances.
- Strong partnership and relationship-building skills to work effectively with employers, services, and colleagues.
- Good organisational and digital skills, including caseload management, prioritisation, and proficiency in MS Office and web-based databases or CRM systems.
