Location

Hours
Hybrid working arrangement with a requirement to attend meetings in person as needed to meet service and finance department needs.

Salary
£58,461 to £60,573 per annum (inclusive), Grade 14 (SCP Range 44-46)

About the Role
Join the Children’s Finance team as an Accountant supporting Children’s Social Care. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Service Managers, Assistant Directors, and external partners to deliver Finance Business Partnering support. You will be responsible for quarterly budget monitoring (monthly for high-risk budgets), ensuring accurate and clear financial reporting to maintain robust financial projections. Your duties will include preparing the annual revenue budget, closing accounts, overseeing significant grant funding streams, and completing statutory returns. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience under a progressive Finance leadership team and contribute to shaping positive outcomes for residents in a dynamic, demand-led service area.

Experience
Experience in finance roles, preferably within local government or public sector, is advantageous but not explicitly required. Confidence in relationship management and the ability to explain complex financial information to non-accountants is essential.

Qualifications
