The Advanced Practitioner (Occupational Therapist) will join Brent’s Access and Information Team, the initial contact point for residents seeking Adult Social Care services. The team includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and dedicated unqualified staff working collaboratively to handle enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.

This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist with extensive experience working with adults with physical disabilities and older people. The successful candidate will provide specialist advice, guidance, and supervision to OT Assistants, ensuring high professional standards. In addition to supporting colleagues, the Advanced Practitioner will deliver direct OT assessments in residents’ homes, contributing to Brent’s mission to empower individuals to live independently and improve quality of life across the borough’s diverse communities.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in Adult Social Care is essential, particularly in assessing and enabling independence within a diverse community setting. Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and older people is highly desirable. Familiarity with the provision and management of community equipment and the ability to navigate complex care systems under pressure are important.

Qualifications
You must hold a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and maintain current registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
