About the Role
We’re seeking Area Tenancy Managers to join Brent’s Housing Management Service and help us deliver our fantastic transformation agenda. Brent is a vibrant London borough, spanning both inner and outer London, known for its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social diversity. The iconic Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline, reflecting the borough’s unique character and rich cultural heritage.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda to better meet the needs of our community, making this an exciting time to join us.
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you will manage end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your patch.
You will develop detailed knowledge across various areas of tenancy management including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and providing tailored support based on individual needs. This role offers an excellent career opportunity to build varied skills, experience, and knowledge across the social housing sector.
With a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you will work to improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service. You will collaborate with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to the support they need, and that Brent’s estates and homes remain good quality, safe, and secure.
You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of social housing in compliance with this critical legislation.
Experience
Experience in housing management or a related field is desirable. Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing, relevant housing legislation, and welfare benefits is essential.
About you
We are looking for resilient individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are not afraid of hard work. You will have excellent customer service skills, empathy for people, and a clear focus on tenant satisfaction and achieving results.
You should be motivated by improving the wellbeing of tenants and making positive contributions to your team and service. The ability to work independently, eagerness to learn, and commitment to making a difference are key attributes for success in this role.
Excellent organisational and IT skills are essential.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in housing or related disciplines are advantageous but not mandatory. A commitment to ongoing professional development is expected.
