About the Role
Historic England is seeking a skilled Architect/Surveyor to join our team. This role involves working on the conservation and management of historic buildings and sites across England. You will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys, preparing reports, and providing expert advice on the repair and maintenance of heritage assets. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of England’s historic environment while working within a dynamic and supportive organisation.

Experience
Proven experience in architectural surveying, conservation, or a related field is essential. Experience working with historic buildings and heritage sites is highly desirable.

About you
You are detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about heritage conservation. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
A relevant professional qualification in Architecture, Surveying, or Conservation is required. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RIBA, RICS, CIOB) is preferred.
