About the Role
At Peabody, we believe in more than just housing, we believe in home. For our older residents, home is a place of safety, dignity, and community. Behind every welcoming scheme is a team of dedicated Scheme Managers, led by someone who brings out their best. That someone could be you.

We are seeking an Area Manager who inspires and leads with kindness and integrity, bringing together a diverse team to deliver exceptional housing services. You will be responsible for around six schemes across London, supporting up to 10 Scheme Managers. These schemes have a history of anti-social behaviour, so confidence in managing this while empowering your team to respond effectively and sensitively is essential.

This is a hands-on, operational role involving regular visits to schemes, managing complaints, leading on health and safety, and supporting your staff to tackle issues like anti-social behaviour with confidence. Strong people management skills are crucial, particularly in supporting staff through challenging situations and maintaining a values-led team culture.

You will be a leader who:
- Keeps promises and builds trust
- Celebrates diversity and creates a sense of belonging
- Embraces new ideas and continuous improvement
- Acts in the best interests of residents, even when it’s tough
- Collaborates effectively, especially during challenges

A car may be helpful but what matters most is your ability to lead with heart and purpose.

- Dealing confidently with anti-social behaviour and community safety
- Strong knowledge of tenancy agreements, landlord responsibilities, and housing legislation

- Resilient and empathetic leader with a values-led approach
- Able to build trust and drive performance within your team
- Confident in supporting staff through challenging situations
- Committed to delivering excellent services for older people
