About the Role
Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and iconic landmarks such as Wembley Stadium. Spanning both inner and outer London, Brent offers a unique community with a rich cultural and ethnic mix. The council is currently pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda to better meet the needs of its residents, making this an exciting time to join the team.

As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you will manage end-to-end tenancies for a designated patch of social tenants or licensees. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your area.

This role offers the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across tenancy management areas including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and tailored support based on individual needs. Managing a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you will work to improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service.

You will collaborate with various council services to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to necessary support and that Brent’s estates and homes remain safe, secure, and of good quality. You will also uphold the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023 guidelines, demonstrating commitment to improving standards and ensuring safety and quality in social housing.

This is an excellent career opportunity to gain varied skills, experience, and knowledge across the social housing sector.

Experience
Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing is essential. Awareness of relevant housing legislation and welfare benefits is required. Experience in tenancy management or a related housing role is advantageous.

About you

You are motivated by improving tenant wellbeing and making positive contributions to your team and service. You work independently, are eager to learn, and committed to making a difference.

Excellent organisational and IT skills are essential. You must demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, promoting an inclusive and respectful working environment.
