About the Role
Join Brent’s Family Support, Child Protection and Court Work teams and be the voice that protects, empowers, and transforms lives. Brent is a vibrant London borough with a rich ethnic and cultural diversity, spanning both inner and outer London. The council is undergoing a far-reaching transformation agenda to better meet community needs, making this an exciting time to join us.

At Brent Council, rated “Good” by Ofsted in all areas, we put children and families at the heart of everything we do. As a Social Worker, you will work in either Family Support or Child Protection and Court Work teams, playing a vital role in safeguarding children and supporting families.

The Family Support Teams provide relationship-based support to children in need and those subject to Early Help Plans, aiming to reduce risk and prevent difficulties from escalating. The Child Protection and Court Work teams undertake statutory safeguarding duties, including Section 47 investigations and Care Proceedings.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with families to reduce risk, strengthen support networks, and ensure every child thrives in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our approach is relationship-based and rooted in systemic practice, working alongside families to recognise strengths, build trust, and support lasting change.
