Reporting into the Audience Development Lead, you will be a key part of the SEO and Audience Development team, managing the SEO content strategy for Immediate Media’s food websites. You will work closely with writers and sub-editors to implement best practice guidelines, identify new opportunities, and report on the performance of some of our most valuable channels.
As an Audience Development Manager you will:
- Develop and implement data-driven SEO content strategies to grow search traffic in collaboration with brand teams
- Support editorial teams in planning, briefing, writing and optimising new and existing content
- Identify, prioritise and maximise growth opportunities across new content verticals and organic channels
- Monitor and report on brand content performance in search, providing clear analysis and actionable insights
- Deliver regular traffic narratives for senior leadership, linking content performance to revenue and budgets
- Develop SEO best practices for recipe and food content, testing and reporting on new tactics
- Guide writers on SEO content creation and optimisation, including providing templates and training sessions
- Monitor market and competitor trends in the food and recipe space through in-depth competitor analyses
- Collaborate with marketing, commerce, product and data teams to align SEO strategies with wider business goals
- Manage monthly content optimisation processes to refresh editorial content around seasonal and evergreen topics
- Work with technical SEO teams on product improvements and internal linking strategies
- Stay updated with SEO industry developments such as algorithm updates and new SERP features, communicating necessary actions to stakeholders
Experience
- Proven track record in developing data-led content strategies and driving organic traffic growth
- Strong understanding of Google Search, Google Discover, AI Overviews and SEO principles
- Experience working with enterprise SEO tools such as Google Trends, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SEMrush
- Proficiency in analytics tools including Google Analytics, Search Console and Data Studio
- Experience working in matrixed organisations managing multiple stakeholders across editorial, technical and business teams
- Understanding of technical SEO
About you
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Natural curiosity and enthusiasm for audience development and SEO practices, especially within media businesses
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
Qualifications
No specific qualifications required, however demonstrable experience and expertise in SEO and audience development is essential
