About the Role
The post holder will work closely with senior staff and multidisciplinary team members to monitor and maintain excellent clinical standards of practice and staff development within the theatre team. As a member of the theatre team, you will perform the tasks of scrub assistant following all checks and procedures as laid down in National and Theatre Policy. You will also perform the tasks of scrub and anaesthetic assistant and support other members of the multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing safe care throughout the patient journey from admission through theatres, recovery, and discharge. You will be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff by acting as a mentor with support from senior colleagues. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant documentation without direct supervision and demonstrate procedures in place to support safe patient care. Flexibility is required to provide cover for any clinical area appropriate to your knowledge and training.

Experience
Experience working within a theatre environment is essential. Ability to perform scrub and anaesthetic assistant duties in line with National and Theatre policies.

Qualifications
Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with relevant professional registration. Evidence of continuing professional development and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
