About the Role
HRS02 forms part of the HS2 Rail Systems programme and operates within strict HS2 Works Information and ISO 19650 requirements. The BIM Coordinator role supports the delivery of BIM/AIM processes across the HRS02 M&E scope, providing operational support to the HRS02 BIM Lead in managing digital information throughout the project lifecycle. Acting as the primary operational contact for suppliers on BIM and information delivery matters, this role coordinates day-to-day information delivery, resolves routine issues, and prepares required reporting. Strategic direction, governance ownership, and senior stakeholder engagement remain with the HRS02 BIM Lead.

Key responsibilities include managing supplier communications on BIM and digital delivery, triaging and resolving issues related to access, modelling methodology, coordination, noncompliance, and workflow, and escalating significant programme issues as needed. The role monitors digital readiness and delivery risks, coordinates updates to the MPDT with Design Managers and suppliers, and collaborates with Document Control, Engineering, Integration, and Quality teams where cross-functional input is required.

The BIM Coordinator also manages the federated model across HRS02 parties, facilitates clash avoidance, detection, and resolution activities, reviews alignment between models, drawings, and associated deliverables, and attends design and coordination meetings as the BIM operational lead. The role supports compliance of all information deliverables with HS2 and project requirements, including integration of CSM and CDM data and asset UAIDs into graphical models.

Additional duties include supporting project and supply chain use of the PIM and AIM CDEs in line with WI requirements, monitoring information exchanges, providing digital coordination support to the HRS02 Interface Manager, supporting coordination of structured asset data delivery, preparing and maintaining digital reporting under HS2 and WI processes, and assisting with audits and governance reviews.

The role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and recording BIM training to embed BIM processes and delegating tasks within the BIM team to achieve Level aspirations.

Experience
- Experience in BIM coordination or information management on major infrastructure or rail projects
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and Common Data Environment processes
- Experience coordinating federated models and clash detection
- Proven ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues and supply chain
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including report writing and management papers
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to change
- Proactive in managing own development

Qualifications
- Minimum HND in a suitable field
- Experience of the construction industry and/or design/project lifecycles
- Excellent digital toolset experience including Bentley applications

Desirable
- ISO 19650 related certification
- Relevant BIM or digital management qualifications
- Familiarity with HS2 Works Information and reporting requirements
- Understanding of CDM and design risk management processes
- Knowledge of data science and ability to derive insights from data
- Experience working to HS2 Information Requirements
