About the Role
HRS02 forms part of the HS2 Rail Systems programme and operates within strict HS2 Works Information and ISO 19650 requirements. The BIM Coordinator role supports the delivery of BIM/AIM processes across the HRS02 M&E scope and provides operational support to the HRS02 BIM Lead in managing digital information throughout the project lifecycle. Acting as the primary operational contact for suppliers on BIM and information delivery matters, this role coordinates day-to-day information delivery, resolves routine issues, and prepares required reporting. Strategic direction, governance ownership, and senior stakeholder engagement remain with the HRS02 BIM Lead.

Key responsibilities include managing supplier communications on BIM and digital delivery, triaging and resolving issues related to access, modelling methodology, coordination, noncompliance, and workflow, and escalating significant programme issues as necessary. The role monitors digital readiness and delivery risks, coordinates updates to the Master Project Data Table (MPDT) with Design Managers and suppliers, and collaborates with Document Control, Engineering, Integration, and Quality teams where cross-functional input is required.

The BIM Coordinator also manages the federated model across HRS02 parties, facilitates clash avoidance, detection, and resolution activities, and reviews alignment between models, drawings, and associated deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Attendance at design and coordination meetings as the BIM operational lead is required.

Additional duties include supporting compliance of all information deliverables with HS2 and project requirements, integrating CSM and CDM data and asset UAIDs into graphical models, and supporting the use of the Project Information Model (PIM) and Asset Information Model (AIM) Common Data Environments (CDEs) in line with Works Information requirements. The role monitors information exchanges, supports the HRS02 Interface Manager with digital coordination, and assists with structured asset data delivery, including monitoring completeness and consistency of asset data outputs and preparing for validation activities.

Reporting responsibilities include preparing and maintaining digital reports covering MIDP status, information delivery performance metrics, clash detection and coordination status, non-compliance trends, deliverable status metrics, and readiness indicators for construction and assurance. The BIM Coordinator supports audit and governance review preparation by collating and validating required evidence.

The role also involves developing, implementing, and recording BIM training to embed BIM processes and delegating training responsibilities within the BIM team to achieve Level aspirations.

Experience
- Experience in BIM coordination or information management on major infrastructure or rail projects
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and Common Data Environment processes
- Experience coordinating federated models and clash detection
- Proven ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues and supply chain
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including report writing and management papers
- Flexible and able to adapt to change quickly
- Proactive in managing own development

Qualifications
- HND in a suitable field or equivalent experience
- Experience of the construction industry and/or design/project lifecycles
- Excellent digital toolset experience including Bentley applications

Desirable
- Familiarity with HS2 Works Information and reporting requirements
- Understanding of CDM and design risk management processes
- ISO 19650 related certification
- Relevant BIM or digital management qualifications
- Experience working to HS2 Information Requirements
- Knowledge of data science and ability to derive insights from data
