Brent Housing Management is seeking a dedicated Building Manager to ensure our properties meet all safety and compliance standards. About the post As a Building Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the Council’s compliance with statutory and non-statutory duties for housing and related properties. Working closely with the Strategic Compliance Manager, you’ll ensure the delivery of Building Safety Cases, Fire Risk Assessments, and Building Registration Certificates. You’ll develop and implement a risk management approach to Building Safety Management, prioritising mitigation and action plans. Additionally, you will manage assigned projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected standard. You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing in compliance with this critical legislation. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners will be crucial to your success in this role. The ideal candidate We’re looking for a dynamic individual with a degree in Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent, and ideally a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Fire Engineers. You should be able to show evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as well as experience in preparing Building Safety Cases and Fire Risk Assessments. You’ll possess strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations, Excellent project management and organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
