About the post As a Building Surveyor you’ll be responsible for delivering a proactive surveying service that is both commercially focussed and provides excellent customer service, enhancing the reputation of Brent Housing. You’ll deliver a comprehensive technical surveying function, maximising its effectiveness and financial performance. You’ll also be responsible for contractor management, building strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders across the business. You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing in compliance with this critical legislation. The ideal candidate You should have an HNC, HND, BTEC HND, or higher in a building discipline, or over five years of hands-on experience in repairs surveying or construction. You’ll have strong technical knowledge, with an ability to accurately diagnose and manage technical repair solutions. You’ll have a working knowledge of repair responsibilities, leasehold obligations, construction improvement, servicing, repair works, dampness, and condensation. Familiarity with contract law, building regulations, gas servicing, asbestos, and health and safety is also important. The ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders is essential for success in this role. You’ll also have experience of building maintenance in a local authority or other registered social landlord.
