About the Role
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the regulator of the private security industry across the United Kingdom, operating as an independent arm’s length body of the Home Office. The SIA’s mission is to protect the public through effective regulation and to raise standards across the sector. The Business Approval Scheme (BAS) will replace the existing Approved Contractor Scheme, introducing a modernised approach that reflects evolving industry standards, employment practices, and technology.
As the Assessment and Implementation Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how businesses are assessed and approved under the new scheme. You will ensure that standards and assurance arrangements are robust, practical, and designed to protect the public while minimising unnecessary regulatory burdens. This role offers significant breadth and influence, spanning strategy, operations, service design, and digital delivery.
You will lead the design and implementation of the future business structure, integrating people, processes, and technology, and guiding colleagues and customers through change. This is a leadership role at the heart of a major transformation programme, working closely with senior leaders, security businesses, government departments, and industry partners to shape the future of business standards in the private security sector.
