Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused, entrepreneurial engineers ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. We are technology experts who apply our software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology expertise to ensure our clients succeed. Business Engineers work directly with clients — starting from their challenges and using deep platform expertise to design solutions and help clients integrate with Meta.

Our team operates at the intersection of business and innovation, solving real-world business challenges through Meta's platforms and community across many of today's most exciting industries and products. These include Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging, and more.

You will write scalable production-grade code across Meta's platforms in collaboration with other product engineering teams. You will have the opportunity to learn and build on different tech stacks and languages. The role offers entrepreneurial freedom to create your own opportunities and choose how you make an impact.

Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as a trusted technical advisor to Meta's clients, understanding their challenges, helping them integrate with Meta's platforms, and providing field insights to Product teams
- Building new products and improving existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners
- Designing and building end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies
- Guiding workflow changes and gaining consensus from stakeholders
- Maintaining effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Developing long-term strategic plans grounded in business objectives and managing client integrations
- Building and managing strong working relationships with technical counterparts
- Mentoring peers and fostering a positive team atmosphere
- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
- Influencing decision-making through data-centric business presentations
- Serving as a subject matter expert and participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Experience
- Minimum 3 years as a software engineer building and shipping production-quality code
- Experience with open source languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or JavaScript frameworks
- Proven ability to write reliable, scalable, and efficient code with emphasis on long-term maintainability
- Experience with software design and architecture
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience contributing to open source projects, shared code repositories, and/or personal projects
- Experience working in highly collaborative environments
- Client-facing experience and/or experience communicating to an audience
- Experience contributing to developer and platform documentation
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
