About the Role
An exciting 12-month fixed term opportunity has arisen for two full-time Business Operational Support Officers within Children Services. The post sits within the Children Services Business Operations team, providing support to a variety of internal and external customers across the council.
As a Business Operational Support Officer, you will undertake statutory daily administrative tasks to specific timescales and to the highest quality. You will support complex meetings and panels, including preparation, minute taking, and post-meeting follow-up. Working collaboratively with managers and colleagues across the service, you will help ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
Accuracy, organisational skills, and the ability to work positively within a team are essential. The role requires a good level of IT knowledge, including Word, Excel, and database input. Prior experience with the Children Services database, Liquid Logic, is advantageous.
The position offers a blend of remote and office-based working when business needs allow, along with many learning opportunities such as online training courses, workshops, and job shadowing sessions with the Business Operations Service Manager.
Please note that information processed within Children’s Services can be highly sensitive and sometimes distressing, so this should be considered before applying.
Experience
Experience in administrative roles with the ability to meet challenging deadlines and deliver high-quality service is essential. Prior knowledge of Liquid Logic or similar Children Services databases is desirable.
About you
You will be accurate, organised, and able to work effectively within a team. A can-do attitude and commitment to the council’s core behaviours are important. You should be comfortable supporting complex meetings and handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
Relevant administrative qualifications or equivalent experience are preferred but not mandatory. A good level of IT proficiency, particularly in Word, Excel, and database systems, is required.
