About the Role
Enfield Council is a dynamic local authority committed to transforming the borough, addressing inequality, and creating lifelong opportunities for its residents. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team. This pivotal role supports the Head of Finance, Finance Managers, and departmental teams by delivering high-quality, flexible, and professional financial support across service areas.

You will act as the Finance Business Partner for the Housing service area, developing a detailed understanding of its operations and financial needs. Key responsibilities include providing robust financial support to service departments, leading accurate and timely reconciliations of housing rental income across financial systems, managing HRA stock data including recording stock movements, and delivering clear, insightful financial advice to senior stakeholders. You will present at Departmental Management Teams, Project Delivery Boards, and other service-related meetings, working independently on a wide range of financial issues and representing senior finance leadership when required.

Requirements

Experience
Extensive experience in financial management and business partnering within local government finance is essential. Proven ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality financial advice. Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel, are required. Experience with Housing Revenue Account (HRA) is desirable.

Qualifications
Qualified accountant or part-qualified and actively studying towards a relevant accounting qualification. Some exposure to Housing Revenue Account finance is preferred.
