About the Role
We are seeking a Business Process Analyst to join the Digitalisation Centre of Excellence within DSM at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). This role is central to process discovery, automation opportunity exploration, and digital transformation, helping to shape well-defined, data-driven use cases that feed into engineering workstreams. You will analyse real-world operational processes by triangulating documentation, system data, process mining insights, and interviews with business teams to surface inefficiencies and uncover automation and AI enhancements. This hands-on, discovery-focused role involves close engagement with DSM Business Services, operational SMEs, Business Architects, and engineering leads in Data Engineering, Analytics, ML, and AI. The role drives clarity, alignment, and adoption of Digitalisation initiatives across DSM.

Key Responsibilities
Analyse end-to-end operational workflows including manual steps, handoffs, approvals, exceptions, and rework loops. Combine process artefacts, interviews, and operational insight to understand actual work practices. Engage with SMEs to identify bottlenecks and challenges not visible in system logs. Detect inefficiencies and areas for digital improvement. Use SQL and Python (Pandas) for data exploration and hypothesis testing. Create Power BI visualisations and interpret process mining outputs to validate execution paths. Identify opportunities for workflow automation, analytics enhancements, and ML/AI augmentation. Support intake, discovery, and prioritisation of Digitalisation initiatives by quantifying business value, effort, and complexity. Translate discoveries into delivery-ready use cases with clear problem statements, scope, benefits, risks, and success metrics. Create as-is process maps and to-be digital/automation concepts. Produce clear visualisations and communication materials to explain use cases and expected changes. Support adoption by identifying change impacts and acting as a feedback channel during rollout. Collaborate closely with business and engineering teams to continuously improve discovery approaches and prioritisation methods.

How This Role Fits into Delivery
This role operates upstream of engineering, providing high-quality, well-scoped problem definitions and validated opportunities to ensure Digitalisation initiatives are easier to deliver, better understood, faster to adopt, and aligned to real business needs. It does not manage delivery but provides critical inputs to it.

What Success Looks Like
Processes are understood at execution level, opportunities entering engineering are clear and prioritised, discovery is grounded in data and operational reality, business teams understand changes and benefits, and Digitalisation initiatives deliver measurable business impact. High-quality opportunities are consistently converted into delivery-ready initiatives, improving pipeline quality and throughput.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in business process analysis, operational analysis, or continuous improvement roles. Ability to map and explain processes using BPMN, flow diagrams, or equivalent. Working knowledge of SQL for operational data exploration. Basic to intermediate Python (Pandas) skills for analysis. Confidence engaging with SMEs to understand workflows and recurring issues. Ability to convert qualitative and quantitative insights into structured use-case documentation. Experience creating clear presentation materials for business and non-technical audiences. Experience working in Agile or iterative environments.

Desirable Skills
Exposure to process mining concepts and tools such as Celonis, QPR ProcessAnalyser, ProM, or Power Automate Process Mining. Experience with Power BI or similar tools for analysis and communication. Interest or experience in business process optimisation or Lean/Continuous Improvement approaches. Exposure to automation, analytics, machine learning, or AI initiatives. Ability to interpret operational metrics to support prioritisation. Experience in regulated or operationally complex environments. Strong interest in digital transformation and intelligent automation. Experience in Capital Markets, Financial Services, Operations, Post Trade, Market Data, or other regulated sectors.

About You
You are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy digging into how work really happens. You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are collaborative, proactive, and passionate about driving operational efficiency and digital transformation. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to grow your skills in automation, data, ML, and AI initiatives.
