About the Role
Join Brent Council’s Children Social Care Services as a Business Support Officer and play a vital role in supporting services across Children, Young People and Community Development. This fixed term/secondment role (12 months) offers an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused professional to work in a fast-paced environment, managing key administrative processes and helping to deliver high-quality services for children, young people and families.

As part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will develop valuable experience working with a variety of council services, stakeholders and partner organisations, broadening your skills and career opportunities. You will be involved in:
- Acting as the first point of contact for the service, handling enquiries, correspondence, calls and emails professionally and efficiently
- Providing comprehensive administrative support including arranging meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes
- Managing financial processes such as raising purchase orders, processing invoices and supporting payment administration
- Maintaining accurate records, databases and spreadsheets, producing reports and supporting statutory returns where required
- Working closely with colleagues, partners and external providers to resolve queries, improve processes and ensure smooth service delivery

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience providing high-quality business or administrative support in a busy environment.

About you
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise workload effectively and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong ICT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications, databases and information systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
- High level of accuracy and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proactive, organised and committed to continuously improving processes and service delivery

Qualifications
Not specifically stated; however, relevant administrative experience and strong ICT skills are essential.
