About the Role
An opportunity has arisen to join Tower Hamlets and the City of London Youth Justice Service as a Youth Justice Case Prevention Officer on a permanent basis. You will work with children aged 10–17 who are referred to the Youth Justice Service by the Police, Court, or via our prevention offer. Your role will involve undertaking high-quality assessments and devising individualised intervention plans tailored to children’s needs. The focus is on supporting desistance from offending, safeguarding children, and protecting the public. You will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children in Tower Hamlets and the City of London.
The Youth Justice Service is committed to a child-first approach, with collaboration at the heart of everything we do. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including speech and language therapists, substance misuse practitioners, police, CAMHS clinicians, education officers, and therapeutic practitioners.
Experience
At least 2 years experience of working with children aged 10-17 years old.
About you
Strong relationship-building skills with children and families from diverse backgrounds. An understanding of trauma-informed, restorative, and relational approaches. Experience of working in partnership with multi-agency teams. A commitment to equality, diversity, and delivering positive outcomes for children and young people.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in youth justice or related fields are desirable but not explicitly stated. A commitment to professional development and best practice is essential.
