Description
Jami is a mental health charity dedicated to enriching and saving lives impacted by mental illness and distress in the Jewish community. We are thrilled to announce our integration with Jewish Care, effective from April 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be employed by Jewish Care, contributing to our shared mission of enhancing mental health provision within the Jewish community.
As the demand for our services has grown significantly, we are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Children and Young Person’s Mental Health Partnership and Intake Lead.
This role focuses on ensuring children aged 11-18 in the Jewish community have coordinated, timely access to mental health services, working collaboratively with YMHP agencies (Norwood, Noa Girls, and Camp Simcha) and playing a key role in delivering Jami's CYP mental health services.
This post is full time working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a hybrid contract working from various resources and home.
What you will be doing:
Working as a key member of the CYP team, providing clinical leadership and supervision.
Establishing and coordinating a network of communal agencies supporting CYP mental health needs.
Acting as a link worker to ensure children and their families access appropriate support.
Collaborating with YMHP agencies to establish a single point of entry for community services.
Assessing and triaging those seeking support, liaising with parents/guardians and other agencies.
Conducting initial duty/intake assessments and other appropriate assessments.
Providing advocacy and short-term work where necessary.
Maintaining accurate client records and contribute to service reports.
Coordinating and develop the intake pathway for CYP.
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Providing specialist information and advice around mental health legislation and rights.
Participating in organisation-wide activities such as supervision, appraisal processes, and maintain personal development.
What you will need:
Recognised mental health qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, RMN).
Registration with an appropriate professional body.
Experience of working with CYP and their families in mental health and social care settings.
Evidence of partnership working with various agencies.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 1983 and Amendment 2007.
Proven experience in a multi-skilled professional team.
Intake/duty work and initial point of contact experience.
Familiarity with the Jewish community and understanding of their needs.
