Part Time - 25 hours per week. May include some Sundays and additional hours to meet business needs, including evenings for events. The café is open from 8am to 4pm and closed on Saturdays.

About the Role
Jami, the Jewish community’s mental health charity, is integrating with Jewish Care from April 1, 2024. As part of this collaboration, Head Room Café, operated by Community Trading Ltd, will continue to thrive as a social enterprise hub. The café is more than just a place to enjoy coffee and food; it serves as a community hub offering free daily groups, activities, mental health support, education, and connection to the local community.
As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, contributing to the vibrant community spirit that defines Head Room Café. Your responsibilities will include welcoming and serving customers with kindness and respect, preparing hot and cold drinks and bar food, sharing information about Jami and its community work, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to food safety and health regulations, taking orders and processing payments, managing stock levels, opening and closing the café, and attending relevant training including mental health awareness.

Experience
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

About you
Passionate and empathetic individual with good literacy, verbal, and numeracy skills. Able to work independently or as part of a team without direct supervision. Awareness of fire procedures and knowledge of Health & Safety practices are important.

Qualifications
Basic food hygiene qualification or willingness to undertake and pass this qualification. Knowledge of food safety practices and some understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is required.
