We are seeking a Commercial Project Manager to join our evolving Building Services business, supporting sustainable growth through enhanced commercial governance, project controls, and integrated global delivery.
In this role, you will be part of the newly established Commercial PMO function, working closely with Project Directors, Technical Project Managers, discipline leads, Cost Centre Owners, and the Gulf Capability Centre (GCC) commercial support teams. Your key responsibility will be to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with business governance requirements. You will provide commercial and operational insight to support informed decision-making, improve project performance, and enable effective utilisation of UK and GCC resources.
You will act as the commercial liaison between project teams, Finance, and GCC commercial/project support teams, delivering accurate reporting, forecasting, project controls, and performance analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
Core Functions include:
- Supporting Project Managers and Project Directors with project controls, commercial reporting, and performance analysis
- Monitoring financial performance including revenue, cost, margin, utilisation, backlog, and Estimate to Complete (ETC)
- Reviewing budgets, fee forecasts, and delivery plans to identify and drive margin improvements
- Ensuring compliance with WSP project lifecycle and governance requirements
- Maintaining project control procedures, templates, and reporting standards
- Supporting monthly forecasting and invoicing processes
- Managing change control, variation orders, and compensation events
- Assisting with risk monitoring, mitigation planning, and lessons learned documentation
- Collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to support project and business objectives
Experience
- Proven ability to oversee commercial and financial performance of major projects and frameworks, including budget management, forecasting, backlog control, working capital optimisation, profitability, and delivery of financial objectives
- Demonstrable experience in project delivery, project controls, PMO, or commercial management within multi-discipline design engineering, construction, or professional services consultancy environments
- Experience with Project Financial Management Systems supporting forecasting, reporting, budgeting, or cost control
- Practical knowledge of planning, progress measurement, cost control, and change management across project lifecycles from concept to completion, preferably within process industry environments
- Understanding of resource planning and utilisation management principles
- Track record of effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary and multi-location teams, managing changing priorities and multiple workstreams
- Analytical approach with ability to evaluate information, identify trends or issues, and make evidence-based recommendations
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey project information and contribute to issue resolution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Advanced Excel), Oracle, and Power BI
- Ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) vetting level

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline. Relevant project controls, PMO, or commercial management qualifications are desirable.
