Community wardens work an alternating shift pattern that covers evenings and weekends. Weekend working is required. A shift allowance of 12.5% is payable for these shifts.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Community Warden to provide a reassuring uniformed patrol presence on the estates, streets, town centres, parks and open spaces of Southwark. You will address concerns of crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental crime through targeted operations and patrols in areas of most need. Community Wardens are a valued and flexible resource supporting organisational efforts to help our communities, especially in response to emergencies or major incidents.
You will work closely with key partners including local police teams, CCTV, housing and estate services, the anti-social behaviour unit, and the street population outreach team. Engagement with members of the business community, estate-based organisations, community representatives and voluntary groups is an important part of the role.

- Anti-Social Behaviour, Enforcement & Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN)
Experience
Previous experience in this area is not essential; however, experience in a front line customer-facing role or a similarly challenging environment will be beneficial.
About you
You should be motivated to work in a community-focused role, able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends. Women are actively encouraged to apply as they are under-represented in this role.
You will need to be able to work effectively with diverse communities and partner organisations, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications and Checks
The successful candidate will require security clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). There is also a requirement to successfully achieve and maintain Police Vetting at NPPV level 2/CTC (with Counter Terrorism Check).

Full uniform is provided. This role is open to internal candidates only, including current employees or agency workers on an active assignment. Internal candidates are encouraged to seek agreement from their substantive line manager if considering this as a secondment opportunity.
