Description
Do you have experience of inspecting construction works and difficult areas of access, including high-rise residential, new build and refurbishment? Are you able to accurately read drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and advise on performance of specific materials? If so, you could be a Construction Inspector here at Peabody.
As a Construction Inspector, you will deliver construction quality controls and monitoring across Peabody’s development programme both when on site and within the defects liability period to ensure high standards are achieved across the schemes, and that buildings are handed over free from defects. You'll have a HNC, HND, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent experience in a construction related subject, or come from a strong trade background. To be successful in this role, you'll be required to work a minimum of 1 to 2 days in the Westminster Bridge Road office.
You'll be carrying out regular inspection visits to projects and properties as required, ensuring that works comply with the agreed Contract, Employers Requirements, specification, and drawings. You'll be carrying out snagging, attending handovers, site meetings and end of defect liability inspections as well as reviewing and commenting on drawings when required, and as per Development procedures.
You'll be working collaboratively, maintaining good communication channels with other functional teams, internal and external clients, and stakeholders to achieve corporate and individual objectives. You'll be able to convey information both in written and verbal format in a clear and concise manner and proactively identify opportunities for improvements of service, procedures, Employers Requirements, and provide close support to the delivery team.
