About the Role

We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel III to join the Enterprise Legal Team and help shape the future of global commerce. The Corporate Counsel III is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice, policy, and direction to the EMEA Enterprise business with a focus on commercial contract and regulatory work. This role requires seamless collaboration across time zones with Worldpay’s global commercial, legal, and compliance teams. The majority of your time will be dedicated to merchant risk analysis, contract drafting and negotiations, and providing legal advice.

The success of this role depends on your ability to rapidly build personal credibility and ensure effective stakeholder management across the business group. You will provide business-focused legal support to a growing global business through a strong understanding of legal requirements and commercial implications. Key responsibilities include commercial contract drafting and negotiation, liaising with customers, suppliers, and senior management on negotiations and transaction structuring, and contributing to solutions beyond the legal remit.

You will review and advise on the legal status of prospective merchants, particularly those in regulated industries, and drive continual improvements in the in-house legal function, including legal technologies. You will promote consistency in appetite, policy standards, and governance across Worldpay, deliver bespoke legal training to the business, and manage external counsel primarily on regulatory matters.

Experience
Proven ability to provide incisive, reliable, and commercial legal advice and solutions on complex business issues. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with professionalism. Experience building and maintaining business relationships and performing stakeholder management. Broad corporate and commercial experience with a solid understanding of core legal concepts, particularly contract law. Experience or interest in payments services regulation and the ability to apply laws to complex commercial structures and products. Proven ability to understand and apply various global laws and regulations for merchant risk analysis.
