About the Role
Ready to take your career global? Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel III to join the Enterprise Legal Team and help shape the future of global commerce. The Corporate Counsel III is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice, policy, and direction to the EMEA Enterprise business with a focus on commercial contract and regulatory work. This role requires seamless collaboration across time zones with Worldpay’s global commercial, legal, and compliance teams. The majority of your time will be dedicated to merchant risk analysis, contract drafting and negotiations, and providing legal advice.

The success of this role depends on your ability to rapidly build personal credibility and ensure effective stakeholder management across the business group. You will provide high-quality, business-focused legal support to a growing global business through a strong understanding of both legal requirements and commercial implications. Key responsibilities include commercial contract drafting and negotiation, liaising with customers, suppliers, and senior management regarding negotiations and transaction structuring, and contributing to debates and implementing solutions beyond the legal remit.

You will review and advise on the legal status of prospective merchants, especially those in regulated industries, and drive continual improvements to the in-house legal function, including legal technologies. You will also promote consistency in appetite, policy standards, and governance across Worldpay, provide bespoke legal training for the business, and manage external counsel primarily on regulatory matters.

About the Team
The Legal, Risk, Compliance & Audit teams ensure Worldpay conducts business the right way, balancing a healthy risk appetite to empower growth. The Enterprise Legal Team currently consists of nine lawyers, growing to ten with this role. The team supports onboarding new merchants across various verticals, including High-Risk verticals, and growing the existing merchant portfolio while ensuring the company is legally protected.
