About the Role
Join the new Data Service, part of a shared Digital & IT service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Borough of Sutton. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across two high-performing London Boroughs with ambitious transformation programmes relying on effective data use to improve council services for residents. You will play a key role in delivering the data strategy, supporting AI and digital ambitions, and helping to build a data-driven culture.
The Data Service aims to set a robust data architecture, establish data governance, upskill staff, embed new tools and technologies, and promote data-driven decision making across both councils. Reporting directly to the Head of Data, you will have the chance to grow, learn, and influence the future direction of data use within local government.
Exciting projects include tackling social care pressures, supporting residents with financial challenges, addressing homelessness, and contributing to major initiatives like the London Cancer Hub in Sutton and Kingston’s large-scale housing regeneration programme. Both boroughs are committed to tackling the climate emergency and investing in innovative technologies and societal change.
Flexible working arrangements are supported, including hybrid working between Kingston and Sutton offices and home working, with all necessary equipment provided to enable productivity and work-life balance.
Experience
Proven track record of leading data projects and delivering data products or services with limited supervision. Experience applying data science to solve complex problems and deliver actionable insights.
