About the Role
Join a unique shared service working across two high performing London Boroughs – Sutton and Kingston. This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly across both boroughs, with support for home working and flexible patterns to balance your professional and personal life. You will be part of the shared pensions administration service formed in 2016, administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for circa 30,000 members and over 120 scheme employers. The Data & Systems sub-team, consisting of 7 members, focuses on maintaining the UPM pensions system, resolving issues, extracting data, testing upgrades, and managing web portal queries.
As a Pensions Officer (Data and Systems), you will maintain, update, and develop the pensions administration software, process bulk starters, leavers and changes, fix data errors, run and distribute reports, test and deliver software updates, prepare data extracts and statistics, and assist with annual projects such as year-end returns and benefit statements. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate data management and smooth system operation within the LGPS administration.
Working for Sutton and Kingston councils means being part of exciting developments such as the London Cancer Hub and major housing regeneration projects, alongside a strong commitment to tackling the climate emergency. Both boroughs offer vibrant communities with excellent schools, green spaces, and rich cultural heritage. The councils value transparency, diversity, and engagement with residents, providing a supportive and ambitious working environment.
We offer a collaborative and friendly workplace where your ideas are encouraged and supported by experienced management. You will have access to a wide range of benefits designed to support your work-life balance and personal development.
