Description
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning andprovision of specialist nursing advice and carries out specialist nursingprocedures. The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other staff,students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialistarea. Ensuring the safety and well being of services users, and alwaysworking in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through theadoption of person centered care principles. Independently manage a group of patients within the specialty whilstworking as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering specialisedindividualised and personalised direct patient care. Demonstrate appropriate practice and specialist advice in the assessment,planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. This includeshistory taking, physical examination and the requesting of agreeddiagnostic procedures/clinical investigations. Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medicationincluding transfusion of blood and blood products Be responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies in thespeciality. To interpret information and take appropriate action and to leadothers to do the same. Act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patientorientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards withinthe NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines. Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patientexperience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs anddoctrines. Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health andwellbeing of the individuals.
