As Director of Software Engineering, you will lead globally distributed engineering squads in a 70/30 leadership and hands-on role, driving AI-powered and agentic engineering to deliver secure, scalable software. You will build, scale, and lead multiple high-performing engineering squads across global locations, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role involves recruiting, mentoring, and developing diverse, inclusive talent while driving engagement and retention.

You will drive engineering delivery and technical roadmap planning in partnership with engineering, product, and business stakeholders, ensuring end-to-end delivery of product features across squads. Responsibilities include leading architecture reviews and design sessions, defining and enforcing engineering standards and best practices, mentoring engineers hands-on through code reviews, technical workshops, and pair programming, and applying AI-powered and agentic development tools to streamline coding, testing, and documentation.

Partnering cross-functionally, you will deliver secure, scalable, high-quality software through robust processes and quality gates, represent engineering in leadership forums, and shape the long-term technical vision. You will be part of Moody’s Corporates and Government (C&G) team, delivering technology solutions that support corporate and public sector clients, working on enterprise software development, public sector innovation, and global impact initiatives.

Experience
- Proven track record of building and scaling distributed, global engineering teams, with hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade systems
- Proficient with agile methodologies and modern software delivery best practices
- Deep technical expertise in modern software development practices and architectures, including cloud-native architecture, microservices, and secure software design
- Experience with modern web technologies and languages is essential: React/.Net Core preferred; experience with Rust is a plus
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems and processes
- Extensive expertise in software engineering with AI, including agentic systems, with a track record of designing and delivering AI-powered and agent-based solutions that drive strategic transformation and engineering efficiency
- Strong hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic frameworks to lead innovation and modernize the software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, including agent autonomy, oversight, and security, while ensuring ethical governance and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels

Qualifications
