Hours
Full time and part time availability considered (minimum 0.6 FTE).

Salary
Up to £66,748 per annum, including all Soulbury scales, inner London weighting, and SPA points.

About the Role
Join a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive borough committed to supporting children and young people with SEND. As an Educational Psychologist in Newham, you will deliver evidence-based, high-quality psychological services to children, young people, and families. You will work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals to improve experiences and outcomes through consultation, early intervention strategies, therapeutic techniques, psychological assessment, and systemic consultation.

Newham’s Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is highly regarded and Ofsted recognised as an area of strength. You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative community initiatives such as Thriving Communities, Youth Empowerment Service, and CHAND (Children with Autism in Newham). You will also engage in team developments including emotion coaching, ELSA training and supervision, reflective supervision, trauma-informed practice, and critical incident support.

Requirements

Experience
We welcome applications from experienced Educational Psychologists, newly qualified practitioners, and those in training (year 2 or 3 of a recognised course). Experience working with children and young people with SEND and in multi-agency settings is desirable.

You will have enthusiasm, drive, and commitment to promote the wellbeing of all children and young people. You should be committed to inclusion, collaborative working, and using psychology to improve educational and social outcomes. A positive attitude towards working in a diverse community and a willingness to engage in a range of work streams is essential.

Qualifications
Applicants must be professionally qualified Educational Psychologists registered with the HCPC or be in the latter stages of a recognised training course. You must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check. We particularly welcome applications from members of minoritised communities to reflect the diversity of the population we serve.
