In this role, you will work with the wider project team to lead and develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative solutions to complex problems, creating practical designs. You will deliver projects at various stages of maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design.

Your responsibilities will include preparation and development of Electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design, switchgear configurations and philosophies, as well as producing bill of materials and quantities for electrical systems. You will collaborate with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designs.

Additionally, you will work with owners, operators and investors to assess the condition of electrical assets and their designs for capability, risk, opportunity and need for intervention.

The Low Carbon team provides services to clients from inception through development, construction, operation and decommissioning, supporting clients over the entire lifecycle of a project. Our expertise covers all Low Carbon power generation and conversion technologies including novel, first-of-a-kind concepts and other low or zero carbon technologies. Working together with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors and OEMs, we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Experience
Degree or similar qualification in a relevant Electrical Engineering subject supported with significant post-graduate experience in electrical design and/or operation, maintenance and testing.
Proven understanding of the design process with the ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts, and experience in producing calculations and/or commissioning, operation, maintenance and testing of medium and high voltage equipment and systems.

About you
The ability and desire to assume a lead role in the development of Electrical deliverables and/or the assessment of assets under construction or in operation.
Knowledge of design, construction and operation of power and energy projects.
Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and membership of a relevant Engineering Institute.
Motivated to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to innovative low carbon energy solutions.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (IEng/CEng).
