Electrical Lead Operative (Qualified Supervisor)

Kings Hall Mews, London with travel to various locations across the Northwest and surrounding areas including resident homes and estates.

Up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
About the Role
Join L&Q's Maintenance Team as an experienced Electrician in a hybrid role combining field and office work. You will work alongside the current electricians managing a daily run list of electrical maintenance tasks including CCU upgrades, fault finding, accessory changes, and electrical testing to ensure homes are safe, compliant, and habitable. The role demands high quality workmanship, outstanding customer service, and a right first-time approach.
As the Electrical Lead Operative, you will also serve as a Qualified Supervisor registered with a CPS scheme (NICEIC). This includes additional responsibilities to ensure the quality and compliance of electrical installation work carried out by the in-house team. You will review inspection and testing results, ensure proper certification and reporting, and report notifiable works to Building Control.

Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician within domestic and light commercial settings, ideally with social housing or local authority background.
- Experience in inspection, testing, fault finding, and achieving first-time fixes.
- Ideally some experience as a Qualified Supervisor (QS), though guidance will be provided if not.
- Ability to self-manage and work effectively under pressure with strict time constraints.
- Strong customer service skills with a proven track record of delivering excellent service.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements with a focus on resident safety.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship or equivalent older craft qualification including End Point Assessment (AM2) (Table A4.8).
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (Table A4.9).
- Level 3 Inspection & Testing - Initial Verification (Table A4.10).
- Level 3 Inspection & Testing - Periodic Inspection (Table A4.11).
- Minimum 2 years’ evidence of responsibility for the technical standard of electrotechnical work and ongoing Continuing Professional Development following formal qualification.
- Must have own hand tools (larger tools and specialist equipment will be provided if needed).
- Good working knowledge of BS7671:2018 and other relevant electrical standards.
