About the Role
Ealing Council has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Property Services team. Property Services delivers comprehensive building maintenance and facilities management across approximately 130 buildings borough-wide. As part of the Electrical Maintenance Engineering team, you will carry out repairs and maintenance to electrical installations and building equipment within the Council’s commercial properties.
Key responsibilities include making site visits to investigate faults, carrying out repairs or reporting remedial works, assisting with costings for quoted works by assessing labour and material requirements, and working closely with mechanical, fabric engineering teams and sub-contractors to provide a comprehensive electrical engineering service. You will also be expected to deliver a high level of customer service to a broad range of Council stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of electrical installations, ideally within a commercial portfolio.
- Experience in inspection and testing, including completion of EIC, MEIWC Certificates and EICR reports.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and systems, including asbestos awareness, working at heights, and use of PPE.
- Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work schedules, and form positive working relationships within a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to complete job reports in plain English.
- Computer literacy, including use of handheld PDAs and Microsoft Office packages.

Qualifications
- Minimum City and Guilds, NVQ Level 2, or completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
- City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or Maintenance is desirable.
- C&G BS7671 2018 (18th Edition) qualification is required.
- City and Guilds or EAL 2391 or 2394/5 Inspection and Testing qualifications are desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
