38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training

Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided

About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. You will be responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance on all electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring health, safety, and well-being of yourself and others by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines. You will undertake reactive and planned maintenance, respond to alarms, fault-find, fix or escalate issues, and install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.

Equipment you will work on includes motors, gearboxes, screw/chain conveyors, centrifuges, various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls.

You will record work and asset information to improve business performance, identify potential risks, recommend changes, and raise issues for resolution. Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and development of staff including apprenticeships will also be part of your role.

Delivering excellent customer experience by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers is essential.

All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. Proven experience working with electrical maintenance in an industrial environment.

- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues

- Full UK driving licence

Qualifications
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is required.
