About the Role
Do you have a background in sales, employer engagement, or recruitment? If yes, then this could be the role for you. We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as an Employer Engagement Officer. The role involves engaging with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with learning disabilities and/or autism in the Ealing area. As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will lead Employer Engagement for the Ealing team, building and developing strong working relationships with employers from various industries to secure work placements and negotiate paid employment for our supported interns. Our interns are supported in the workplace by a Skills Coach, and you will oversee their work to ensure that placements progress, helping learners become independent and eventually move into paid work.
What does our Supported Internship programme offer?
A wide range of benefits, helping young people with SEND to raise aspirations, build skills and confidence, have a better understanding of employment, demonstrate what they can offer an employer, and progress towards paid work. You will generate links with local employers that result in placement opportunities for learners, work with designated employers to identify suitable pathways and work-related opportunities, sustain rapport with key employers, and develop stakeholder and partnership relationships to generate a consistent flow of employment opportunities for our Supported Internships. Additionally, you will manage job coaches.
Experience
The ability to work on your own initiative, good interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. You must be able to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, and parents/carers.
About you
You should have the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records using IT-based systems. Ideally, you will have employer engagement and marketing experience, as creating work opportunities for the people we support is an important aspect of the role.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.
