About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Employer Engagement Officer to join our Supported Internship programme team within Mencap's Training Academy. In this role, you will be central to delivering high quality work experience and paid opportunities for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on the Supported Internship Programme. You will develop and maintain strong partnerships with multiple employers across a range of sectors, working closely with delivery teams, tutors, and careers leaders. Key responsibilities include ensuring high quality support for each learner, tracking work placement progress, acting as an ambassador for Mencap by delivering learning disability awareness sessions to employers, and supporting the team in building positive relationships with parents, carers, learner support networks, and employers. You will also be responsible for accurate record keeping, reporting, and conducting quality assurance activities to drive continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people with SEND into meaningful employment.

Experience
- Experience of working with people with a learning disability
- Experience of supported employment
- In-depth knowledge and experience of engaging with employers
- A track record of securing paid work outcomes and delivering against targets

- An understanding of employment and education programmes
- Ability to plan and manage your own workload effectively
- Strong communication, record keeping, and organisational skills
- Ability to build professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent team player with strong problem-solving skills

Qualifications
All candidates offered an interview will need to provide evidence of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at interview stage.
