Location
London Borough of Lewisham, based in the community working in clients' homes. Office located in Ladywell.

Hours
Weekend and bank holiday shifts required, including split shifts on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays or AM/PM shifts at weekends.

Salary
£31,086 - £31,530 per annum pro rata (Scale 3). Enhancements paid for weekend and bank holiday working. All appointments offered at minimum spinal column point unless matching current salary with proof.

About the Role
Join the Council's Enablement team supporting people living in their own homes who need short-term care and support to regain confidence and independence with daily living tasks. Most clients have recently been in hospital due to falls, planned surgery or short illness. The enablement programme is supported by therapists, nurses and social workers. This role requires patience, empathy and a calm reassuring manner to encourage individuals to attempt care tasks alongside you while delivering a safe and competent service. You will work as part of a team but also use your initiative and flexible "can do" approach to provide reassurance and competence to our citizens. Travel between visits is required by car or bicycle to maximise efficiency.

Experience
Experience in caregiving within a paid or unpaid capacity is required.

About you
Excellent communication skills with the ability to record accurate feedback on progress. Patient, empathetic and calm with a reassuring manner. Able to work flexibly and use initiative. A driver or cyclist to maximise travel time between visits. Able to work as part of a team and independently.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or above is desirable.

Access to own car or bicycle for travel between visits.
Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays as part of shift pattern.
Willingness to work anywhere within the Borough of Lewisham.
