About the Role
Are you passionate about equality, inclusion and making a real difference? Croydon Council is looking for an Equalities & HR Policy Officer to help shape the policies, practices and culture that support a diverse, inclusive and high-performing workforce. Working within our Workforce Strategy team, you'll play a key role in developing people policies, supporting equality initiatives, analysing workforce data and contributing to major organisational change programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and reviewing people policies and guidance
- Supporting and quality assuring Equality Impact Assessments
- Working with HR&OD colleagues to translate people policy into practical workplace practices
- Analysing workforce equality data and producing reports for senior leaders
- Providing advice on employment policy, equality legislation and best practice
- Working with staff networks, trade unions and stakeholders to promote inclusion
- Supporting workforce transformation, organisational development and culture change initiatives

Experience
- Experience of HR policy development and/or equality, diversity and inclusion work
- Knowledge of HR casework operational practice
- Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice

- Collaborative, proactive approach with a genuine commitment to inclusion
