About the Role
Croydon Council is taking a place-based approach, focusing on statutory responsibilities, prevention and early intervention, and adopting a whole family, strengths-based recovery approach. This role operates within that context, working alongside residents and their families to maximise life chances and outcomes.

Following an organisational restructure in Adult Social Care Mental Health Service, opportunities to step into the role of Team Manager have become available. This position offers excellent opportunities for an advanced social worker at Team Manager level with considerable expertise, skills and experience to work autonomously, demonstrating and modelling exemplary standards of practice. You will support social workers at all levels, non-qualified practitioners and students within the service.

The post reports to the Service Manager Adult Social Care Mental Health Service.

Applicants not currently qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to undertake all relevant training to qualify and be approved as an AMHP.

Knowledge and experience of Forensic Mental Health Social Work Practice and Social Supervision will be highly desirable. Knowledge, experience and approval as an AMHP will also be highly desirable.

Requirements

Experience
Considerable expertise, skills and experience in social work, preferably with knowledge of Forensic Mental Health Social Work Practice and Social Supervision. Experience working autonomously and supporting social workers, non-qualified practitioners and students is essential.

About you
Committed to high standards of practice and professional development. Willingness to undertake training to become an Approved Mental Health Professional if not already qualified. Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with diverse communities. Demonstrates leadership and the ability to model exemplary social work practice.

Qualifications
Qualified social worker status is required. Approval or willingness to become an Approved Mental Health Professional is essential.
