ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
ABOUT THE POST
Experienced technician required to take a supporting role in the practical delivery of our filmmaking, TV production, and Journalism courses. You will support academics, Technical Demonstrators and students in our film and TV studios, specialist editing suites, and hands-on workshops. Must be technically knowledgeable and skilled in the use of a wide range of filmmaking equipment, TV broadcast hardware, and industry standard software. You will be able to apply your skills to filmmaking and TV production processes, installing and operating equipment to meet creative briefs, and supporting students in their technical learning.
Your organisational skills will contribute to the smooth running of our equipment loans stores at Holloway and Adgate, drawing on your technical knowledge to advise students on the suitability of available equipment, and how it is used.
Above all, you will be enthusiastic about filmmaking and enjoy sharing your skills, knowledge, and experience with students and staff.
