About the Role
Delano London is seeking an exceptional Finance Assistant to join its pre-opening team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will support the hotel's financial operations by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of all revenue, receivables, and payables in accordance with Delano policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements. This role covers Income Audit, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions, playing a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, and supporting efficient financial reporting.

Income Audit Responsibilities
Ensure robust control of petty cash and hotel paid outs. Audit and reconcile daily revenue from all hotel outlets (Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, etc.) to guarantee accuracy and completeness. Verify and post revenue journals and income summaries into the general ledger. Ensure all credit card transactions are authorized and settled, investigating discrepancies. Reconcile cash and bank deposits to ensure proper handling of funds. Coordinate with departments to resolve billing discrepancies or posting errors. Assist in preparing daily and monthly financial reports and summaries. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data. Assist with month-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Collaborate closely with Accounts Receivable and Night Audit teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities
Assist in establishing customer credit per Delano policies, managing credit applications, reference checks, credit limits, and direct bill listings. Generate and distribute accurate invoices, statements, and billing schedules. Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding billing, account discrepancies, or payment terms. Communicate disputes or payment delays to relevant departments for resolution. Maintain an organized collection process including demand letters, monitoring returned checks and chargebacks, and follow-up calls. Track and process bad debt write-offs in compliance with procedures. Monitor guest ledger, city ledger, advance deposit ledger, and related accounts. Support front office and other departments with credit procedure training. Prepare and review financial reports related to accounts receivable aging, collections, and credit status. Assist audits by providing required documentation. Support balance sheet reconciliation.

Accounts Payable Responsibilities
Post, correct, and report accounts payables to ensure accurate and timely information. Maintain controlled procedures for hotel expenditure. Ensure timely disbursement of funds to suppliers while managing hotel cash flow. Maintain suitable storage and archiving of all accounts payable documents. Respond efficiently to vendor inquiries and issues to maintain high customer satisfaction. Analyze and maintain vendor communication including invoice processing, report preparation, payment monitoring, and statement verification. Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, investigating discrepancies promptly. Monitor compliance with approval levels, expense reporting procedures, and policies. Maintain purchase order systems (Adaco), including open PO listings, filing, and discrepancy notifications. Prepare month-end AP accruals with correct supporting documentation. Support balance sheet reconciliations.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in finance or accounting roles within hospitality or similar industries is preferred. Familiarity with property management systems such as Opera and Micros, and financial software like SunSystems, Oracle, or equivalents is essential. Solid understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures. Working knowledge of applicable financial regulations, hotel compliance standards, and audit practices is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear direction internally and externally. Ability to remain calm and alert during emergency situations. Strong decision-making skills based on experience and good judgment, with flexibility to revise procedures when necessary. Highly analytical, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications
Relevant finance or accounting qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated proficiency in financial systems and reporting. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity of financial data at all times.
