Under the general guidance of the Concierge, the Porter is responsible for meeting, greeting, and assisting in transporting guests’ luggage and items to and from their rooms in a courteous, timely and professional manner. Key responsibilities include greeting guests at the door and lobby, assisting and covering door people during breaks, retrieving and delivering luggage, escorting guests to their rooms while explaining room facilities and promoting hotel outlets such as the restaurant, bar and spa. The role also involves handling messages, packages, and other guest requests to ensure comfort, maintaining safe and tidy luggage storage, and providing knowledgeable information about the hotel, its services, the city, and local events.

The Porter must be able to drive safely and efficiently, keep records of any driving incidents, and ensure guest safety and security while traveling. Providing gracious, attentive, and friendly service is essential, along with performing any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors or managers. The role requires a flexible approach to service, with team members occasionally performing various related tasks to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Above all, the Porter must love and take care of guests.

Experience
One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.

Additional language skills are preferred.
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance, following specific uniform guidelines.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Full and clean driving licence required.
Working knowledge of basic safety, security, data protection and emergency procedures in a hotel setting.
