About the Role
The Corporate Debt Team within the Revenues & Debt Service is seeking to appoint 2 permanent Finance Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team responsible for the issue and recovery of the Council’s sundry debts. Successful candidates will undertake a variety of tasks related to raising and recovering debt, maintaining records in accordance with financial procedures. Key responsibilities include raising invoices, liaising with council departments, resolving queries, managing calls via a busy duty line, making contact to obtain payment of outstanding invoices, and commencing recovery action where necessary.

Experience
- Experience of debt recovery
- Experience of working in a financial environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- A strong desire to provide excellent customer service and assist those in financial difficulties
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to work independently, accurately and meet deadlines
