The Cyber & Specialist Operations Command (CSOC) unites Defence’s cyber and specialist capabilities under a single military command alongside the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force, acting as the UK’s fourth Military Command.

The Finance Team Leader will manage a busy and dynamic business area providing direct financial support to live CSOC operations. This role involves day-to-day management of operational finances, future operational planning, and review. You will create and maintain financial capabilities for CSOC and, when required, wider MOD, pioneering new financial procurement methods in line with MOD and HMG Financial Policy and Procedures.

Key responsibilities include risk management related to Anti Money Laundering and Fraud legislation, ensuring first line financial assurance through review and reconciliation of variable expenditure, supporting external audit and assurance processes, and liaising across the wider operational business area and MOD finance function. You will also engage with external public and private sector partners and line manage the HEO Finance Accounts Manager.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be sole UK nationals. The successful candidate will be required to work in London 5 days per week, with routine travel that may include overnight stays. This role demands a high level of personal responsibility and integrity, often representing MOD independently.

CSOC is undergoing a significant transformation programme to improve how it conducts business and delivers for Defence and the nation, which may result in changes to posts within the Command.

Experience
- UK Law Enforcement financial crime experience, specifically demonstrable experience of financial investigation or financial intelligence, with College of Policing PIP 2 accreditation.
- Demonstrable understanding of Money Laundering Reporting processes.
- Experience working in a Non-Standard specialist finance team within UK Government is desirable.
- Strong understanding of Government accounting concepts and processes including monthly accounting procedures.
- Experience with audit, assurance, and financial risk management.
- Awareness of Government and MOD procurement processes and the relationship between Finance and Commercial teams is desirable.
- Practitioner experience with MOD procurement systems and methods including CP&F and ePC Low Value Purchase is desirable.

Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
- Current Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance is desirable but not essential as it can be obtained post appointment.
- Due to the nature of the role, only sole UK nationals will be considered.
