Location
City of Westminster, with operational activities consolidated in Norcross, Blackpool and a planned move to the Government Hub at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool in 2027.

Hours
Full Time - standard Civil Service working hours, Monday to Friday, with flexible and hybrid working options where the role permits. Office-based employees are expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office, subject to site capacity and workplace adjustments.

Salary
£61,630 per annum, plus Ministry of Defence contribution of £17,854 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

The DBS Senior Delivery Manager - Project Manager will lead and manage the project team on a day-to-day basis, driving the delivery of project objectives within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. This role involves key responsibilities in project governance, stakeholder engagement, benefits realisation, risk and issue management, and change management.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading project delivery to achieve agreed outcomes
- Managing project controls, structure, and methodologies
- Developing and drafting business cases
- Budget development and tracking
- Resource identification, deployment, and development
- Benefits realisation and monitoring
- Stakeholder relationship management
- Risk and issue identification and mitigation
- Supporting governance and assurance processes
- Providing guidance, coaching, and promoting team performance
- Maintaining project plans and reporting progress to sponsors

This is a fixed-term appointment for two years with the possibility of extension subject to business needs. The role is open to MOD civil servants and accredited NDPB civil servants on loan or secondment basis, with specific conditions applying to temporary transfers and promotions.

Experience
- Proven leadership and project delivery experience within an appropriate project management framework.
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience of shared services in the public sector.

Additional requirements include:
- Successful candidates must undergo security clearance at Security Check level.
- Candidates must meet nationality requirements as specified by the Ministry of Defence.
- The role does not offer visa sponsorship.
- Candidates will be assessed against Civil Service Success Profiles including behaviours (Working Together, Seeing the Big Picture, Leadership, Communicating and Influencing) and technical skills (Project Delivery Framework Risk and Issue Management, Project Delivery - Stakeholder Engagement at Practitioner level).
- A six-month probation period applies for external recruits new to the Civil Service.
